Bursary Grants for Apprentices
Supporting Care-Experienced Young People on Their Career Journey
Way 2 Work Ireland, in partnership with TESS and DEFHERIS, is proud to launch the Apprenticeship Bursary Grant for young people aged 16 to 23 with care experience who are currently undertaking an apprenticeship. This one-time financial grant of up to €3,000 per learner is designed to help cover essential costs such as:

Travel expenses

Equipment
-
Tutoring
-
Training preparation
The Apprenticeship Bursary Grant will be open for applications from 1st December and will close on 15th December.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Bursary Grant, you must:

Be aged between 16 and 23 years old.

Have a background in the care system.

Be currently enrolled in an apprenticeship program.

Where possible, the application should be completed by the young person's social worker or aftercare worker.

If a young person wishes to self-refer, this is also acceptable. However, we will need to confirm that the applicant is currently in, or has been in, Tusla's care.

Send the completed application form to info@way2work.ie by 15th December.
What Happens Next?

Applications will be reviewed after the closing date.

Successful applicants will be notified by email.

Funds will be disbursed following confirmation of eligibility.
